To celebrate, we just released our brand new 2025 Out & About Fairfax July 4th Fireworks Guide!
In this special guide, we provide all of the information you need to find fireworks displays around Fairfax County in the days leading up to July 4 and on the holiday itself. We’ve outlined the fireworks displays by city and region across the county so you can easily find a show near you. Check it out and share it with a friend!

Philippine Independence Day Festival
The Mosaic District is hosting the Philippine Independence Day Festival, a.k.a. Phil Day Fest, on Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22. The event features cultural and contemporary performances, food vendors serving Filipino cuisine, artisan and craft vendors, and much more.

Summer Solstice Outdoor Yoga at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens
Enjoy outdoor yoga — sunset edition — as you ring in the summer season on Friday, June 20 from 6:30p.m.-9:30p.m. at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. Tickets: $65, and registration is required.

Enjoy a break from the (seemingly never-ending) rain by checking out a few campfires around the region this weekend, hosted by the Fairfax County Park Authority:
Summer Solstice Campfire in Annandale on Saturday, June 21 at 8:00p.m.
The weekly Campfire Saturdays series continues at Burke Lake Park in Fairfax Station on Saturday, June 21 at 8:00p.m.
The Friends of Burke Centre Library will hold a book sale on Saturday, June 21 from 10:00a.m.-6:00p.m. Shop books for all ages, music, movies, and more.

The Night Market at Audacious Aleworks
One of the longest nights of the year = a nighttime market and craft market at Audacious Aleworks’ Falls Church brewpub. Shop local vendors and enjoy a pint or two on Sunday, June 22 from 5:00p.m.-8:00p.m.

Spotlight by Starlight Summer Concert Series
The free summer concert series is back in Annandale, with shows in two Annandale parks throughout the season. The City of Fairfax Concert Band headlines Friday, June 20 at the Mason District Park Amphitheater. Showtime: 7:30p.m.

The sweet sounds of jazz fill the air at Chantilly’s Vanguard Arts Center on Friday, June 20 at 7:00p.m. This free concert also allows musicians to take part in the fun. Jazz Jam runs every third Thursday of the month.

Indigo Girls Headline Capital One Hall
The hit-making folk-rock duo takes the stage at Capital One Hall for two performances, Thursday, June 19 and Friday, June 20. Tickets for both shows are available.

Standup Comedy Night at Workhouse Arts Center

Play All Day VA is a statewide initiative to kick off the summer season with fun outdoor events! Here are some across the area this weekend:
Town of Herndon — Friday, June 20 with free access to the Herndon Community Center and “Popsicles in the Park” at Haley Smith Park and Bready Park Playground.
Reston — Friday, June 20 at the Reston Community Center where you will find free family-friendly activities, concerts, coffee and snacks, and more.
Friday Night Fun Camps at The St. James
Parents can enjoy a night off and the kiddos can enjoy dinner, a movie, plus activities and more at with Friday Night Fun Camps at The St. James in Springfield. The event is for boys and girls ages 6-13. $50 per person and $25 for each additional sibling. The fun is scheduled for Friday, June 20 from 6:00p.m.-10:00p.m.

⚽️ The Washington Spirit is at the San Diego Wave on Sunday, June 22. D.C. United is off this week. Loudoun United FC is at Hartford on Friday.

Before We Go, Some Good News…
Did you see Bruce The Bat Dog at the Nationals game last weekend? Bruce has spent the last two seasons with the Nats Triple-A affiliate, the Rochester Red Wings. But on Saturday, he made his “MLB Debut” as he retrieved a bat during the “Pups in the Park” promotion at Nats Park. Congrats Bruce!
