As Memorial Day weekend approaches, it’s a time to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. For many, it’s also considered the unofficial start to the summer season. We have events for both sides of the weekend for you below.
As you look ahead to the weekend, we have details about events and festivals in Vienna, Tysons, Fairfax, Chantilly, and much more. Plus, the latest edition of a local concert series rolls out on Friday — we tell you where and when.

Memorial Day Events & Services in Fairfax County and the Region
Here are some of the Memorial Day events happening around the area that caught our eye 👀
25th Anniversary of Ride of the Patriots — Patriot Harley-Davidson and the Harley Owners Group, Fairfax Chapter will host their 25th annual Ride of the Patriots on Sunday, May 25. The ride starts at the Patriot Harley-Davidson store in Fairfax and proceeds to the Pentagon.
43rd Annual Falls Church Memorial Day Parade & Events — In Falls Church, start the day with the Memorial Day 3K Fun Run — no registration required — followed by a Memorial ceremony and the parade, which starts at 2:00p.m.
National Museum of the U.S. Army — Learn about the history of the U.S. Army and those who have served the United States during a weekend of events at the National Museum of the U.S. Army in Ft. Belvoir. Four days of events are scheduled from Friday, May 23-Monday, May 26, including a Memorial Day Remembrance and Moment of Silence on Monday.

Viva! Vienna! 2025 Kicks Off Saturday
It’s a packed weekend ahead in Vienna as the the annual Viva! Vienna! comes to town Saturday, May 24-Monday, May 26. The three-day event honors Memorial Day and raises money for the Rotary Club of Vienna, which ultimately uses the proceeds for charitable efforts in the year ahead. Enjoy rides and food, check out the BrewFest, meet with local vendors, and much more. Times and ticket info are in the link above.

Asian Summer Festival at Tysons Corner Center
Enjoy Asian street food, learn K-Pop dances, check out Filipino tribal tattoos, and much more during the three-day Asian Summer Festival at Tysons Corner Center, from Saturday, May 24-Monday, May 26. The event is free to attend and runs from 11:00a.m.-6:00p.m. as part of the mall’s AAPI Heritage Month series.

The classic American carnival returns to the Fair Oaks Mall this week through Monday, May 26. Enjoy rides, games, carnival food, and much more.

It’s a Spring Thing Community Outdoor Festival
The Vanguard Arts Center in Chantilly is hosting its Spring Thing Community Outdoor Festival on Saturday, May 24 from 1:00p.m.-6:00p.m. Enjoy food, live music — including by the Stone Middle School Jazz Ensemble — raffle prizes, and more.

Line Dancing at The Winery at Bull Run
A boot scootin’ good time at The Winery at Bull Run on Friday, May 23 with a night of line dancing and wine. This event is free, and tickets/RSVPs are not necessary. The fun runs from 6:30p.m.-8:30p.m. Ages 18+.

Memorial Weekend Bash at Commonwealth Brewing Co.
Four days of music, food, and tasty craft beers are on tap at Commonwealth’s Fairfax brewpub. That includes four brand new beer releases. The fun runs Friday, May 23-Monday, May 26.

Jimmy’s Old Town Tavern 28th Anniversary Party & Memorial Day Weekend Bash
The Herndon staple turns 28 this weekend, and the celebration is a joint “anniversary party and Memorial Day Weekend bash.” The event starts Sunday, May 25 with a motorcycle ride and complimentary breakfast, followed by live music and more starting at noon.

Live Hawaiian Music & Brewery Tours at Ono Brewing
The Chantilly brewery is hosting tours and ringing in the unofficial start to summer with some tropical themes and Hawaiian music. The fun runs Saturday, May 24 from 12:00p.m.-4:30p.m.

A patriotic weekend at Wolf Trap, and relive the 2000s at Capital One Hall! ⬇️
John Holiday, U.S. Marine Band Headline Wolf Trap
Wolf Trap features two shows this weekend, with countertenor John Holiday performing Friday, May 23, and the U.S. Marine Band performing Sunday, May 25. Tickets for the Holiday performance start at $62.50 and will be held at The Barns, while the Marine Band is free at the Filene Center.

Rock the Block Returns in Fairfax City

“Lez Zeppelin,” the all-female Led Zeppelin tribute band headlines Reston Concerts on the Town this Saturday, May 24 at Reston Town Center. The show starts at 7:30p.m. in the Pavilion.

Napoleon Dynamite Live! 20th Anniversary Celebration

Northern Virginia Model Railroaders Host Open House
All aboard! This open house offers model railroad enthusiasts and newcomers alike a chance to learn about the hobby and to visit the historic train depot in downtown Vienna. Club members will be on-hand to answer questions and offer insight about all things model railroading. The open house is scheduled for Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25 from 1:00p.m.-5:00p.m. each day.

Turtle Trek at Walker Nature Center
In honor of World Turtle Day this week, on Sunday, May 25, the Reston Association is hosting “Turtle Trek” to educate local residents about turtles found in our area and a chance to see them in-person. Cost: $7/RA member, $9/non-RA member. Time: 1:30p.m.-3:00p.m.
