The heat wave continues across the DMV for the next few days, so keep that in mind as you head Out & About this weekend. I felt a little like Kramer from Seinfeld when I’d leave the house this week — that heat just hits you.
That said, it’s a good time to sit in the AC or the shade and check out the events on tap this weekend!

The latest Fairfax Funky Flea is set for Saturday, June 28 in the City of Fairfax. Scheduled for 9:00a.m.-3:00p.m., check out 70+ vendors in an outdoor flea market-style setting. Runs the last Saturday of every month through December.

The St. James Community Market
Shop local vendors, and enjoy live music, food, games, and fun at The St. James in Springfield on Sunday, June 29 for their Community Market. This event is free to attend. The event runs from 10:00a.m.-3:00p.m.

Fireworks Shows Across Fairfax County
Last week, we released our 2025 July 4th Fireworks Guide which highlights fireworks shows across the area. But, some of the shows fill up the sky before Independence Day including displays starting this Friday and Saturday. This includes popular day-long festivals, such as the Workhouse Fireworks Festival in Lorton and more. Check out the link above for more details!
City of Fairfax Hometown Celebration
Kick off Independence Day a little early on Sunday, June 29 with Fairfax’s Hometown Celebration. The fun includes games, food trucks from local businesses, live music from the City of Fairfax Band, and more. The event runs 5:00p.m.-8:00p.m. in the Veterans Amphitheater.

Three days of food, fun, and community come to the Springfield Town Center from Friday, June 27-Sunday, June 29. More than 40 food trucks and vendors dish up tasty treats, plus shop from local artisan vendors and more. Tickets are free and registration is encouraged.
