Hey gang, Matt here!

The heat wave continues across the DMV for the next few days, so keep that in mind as you head Out & About this weekend. I felt a little like Kramer from Seinfeld when I’d leave the house this week — that heat just hits you.

That said, it’s a good time to sit in the AC or the shade and check out the events on tap this weekend!

    • The latest Fairfax Funky Flea is set for Saturday, June 28 in the City of Fairfax. Scheduled for 9:00a.m.-3:00p.m., check out 70+ vendors in an outdoor flea market-style setting. Runs the last Saturday of every month through December.

  • The St. James Community Market

    • Shop local vendors, and enjoy live music, food, games, and fun at The St. James in Springfield on Sunday, June 29 for their Community Market. This event is free to attend. The event runs from 10:00a.m.-3:00p.m.

  • Fireworks Shows Across Fairfax County

    • Last week, we released our 2025 July 4th Fireworks Guide which highlights fireworks shows across the area. But, some of the shows fill up the sky before Independence Day including displays starting this Friday and Saturday. This includes popular day-long festivals, such as the Workhouse Fireworks Festival in Lorton and more. Check out the link above for more details!

  • City of Fairfax Hometown Celebration

    • Kick off Independence Day a little early on Sunday, June 29 with Fairfax’s Hometown Celebration. The fun includes games, food trucks from local businesses, live music from the City of Fairfax Band, and more. The event runs 5:00p.m.-8:00p.m. in the Veterans Amphitheater.

  • CSA Sports Memorabilia & Autograph Signing Show

    • Dozens of pro-athlete signors and 200+ exhibitors will pack the Dulles Expo Center for a three-day event on Friday, June 27-Sunday, June 29. Enjoy rare photo opportunities and check out sports collectibles of all kinds. Tickets start at $15.

  • Summer Saturdays Trivia at Gunston Hall

    • Historic Gunston Hall is kicking off its summer “Civic Season” with Trivia Saturday on June 28 from 1:00p.m.-3:00p.m. Enjoy pizza and test your knowledge. Tickets: $5-10.   • Foodees Food & Culture Festival

    • Three days of food, fun, and community come to the Springfield Town Center from Friday, June 27-Sunday, June 29. More than 40 food trucks and vendors dish up tasty treats, plus shop from local artisan vendors and more. Tickets are free and registration is encouraged.

  • Brewbilee 2: A Culture and Beer Fest

    • Enjoy beer tastings from 12 breweries, music, food trucks, and more fun at Brewbilee 2 in Herndon on Saturday, June 28 from 11:00a.m.-5:00p.m. The event aims to bring together Black-owned breweries across the DMV and showcasing some of the best beers around. Tickets: $44.

  • Creative Cauldron’s Summer Passport Music Festival

    • The Falls Church performing art center kicked off its 14th annual summer music festival last week. This week, Stephen Carter-Hicks takes the stage on Friday, June 27 at 7:30p.m. Tickets and seating options can be found in the link above

  • Sal Vulcano Headlines Capital One Hall

    • The “Impractical Jokers” star brings his “Everything’s Fine” stand-up comedy tour to Capital One Hall on Saturday, June 28. Tickets start at $47. Showtime: 7:00p.m.

  • “The Roots” Headline Wolf Trap

    • A jam-packed weekend at Wolf Trap is capped off with a performance by The Roots on Sunday, June 29 at 8:00p.m. at the Filene Center. Known as the house band on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the legendary hip hop band is back by popular demand. Tickets start at $64.50.
