Chantilly's nZone Artisan Market Prepares for New Season

We chat with organizers ahead of their first market of the 2025 season on Saturday, June 7, and they tell us how the market brings the community together, boosts local businesses

Hey gang, Matt here! In April, you may remember we kicked off our new series where we take you behind the scenes of some of the events happening in our local communities. At that time, we spoke with the team at Taste of Vienna as we previewed the popular food festival in Vienna.

Today, we continue that series as we chit-chat with the team behind the new nZone Artisan Market in Chantilly. It first opened in 2024, but this new(ish) market returns this Saturday, June 7, with a new name and some new vendors — a total of 16 vendors in all — who are expected to sell everything from fresh produce, artisan chocolates, and baked goods.

We recently spoke with Daniel Sheard, nZone’s Director of Marketing, who pulled back the curtain to reveal a little more about what we can expect at this year’s market ahead of Saturday’s season opening. Plus, he shares why the market is a unique fit for the Chantilly community.

Let’s go Out & About in Chantilly!

Cheers,
Matt

A preview of the nZone Artisan Market

  • Out & About Fairfax: “Thanks for chatting with us! Tell us a little about the nZone Artisan Market.”

  • nZone Artisan Market: The nZone Artisan Market launched in 2024 as The nZone Farmers Market as an effort to bring something special to the Chantilly area. The closest Farmers Markets were in Fairfax, South Riding, or Manassas, creating a need for the market in the immediate area. We were also excited for the opportunity to bring attention to our local vendors, many of whom were priced out of bigger markets. The nZone allowed these vendors a chance to showcase their fantastic businesses.”

  • Out & About Fairfax: What made you and the nZone team want to start a farmers market?”

  • nZone Artisan Market: We saw an opportunity to introduce locals to the nZone and New Life Christian Church by bringing in something the Chantilly community lacked, a market showcasing local vendors.”

  • Out & About Fairfax: What can folks expect when they visit the nZone Artisan Market? Are there new vendors or specialty items can we expect this year?”

  • nZone Artisan Market: Visitors can expect a lot of new vendors. We have added chocolate, coffee, and bakeries to the mix this year.”

  • Out & About Fairfax: “What makes the nZone market unique?”

  • nZone Artisan Market: This is a small market that allows visitors to personally connect with local businesses. Everyone attending is from the Northern Virginia area, making it easy to connect with these small businesses.”

  • Out & About Fairfax: “Farmers markets are incredibly popular around Fairfax County. How has the Chantilly community responded to the market?”

  • nZone Artisan Market: There has been growing excitement around the new look market and a lot of optimism that this will be something special.”

  • Out & About Fairfax: “If someone is interested in becoming a vendor, how can they do that?”

  • nZone Artisan Market: Interested vendors email me at [email protected] or apply through ManageMyMarket by searching The nZone Artisan Market.”

  • Out & About Fairfax: “Is there anything else the community should know about the nZone Artisan Market?”

  • nZone Artisan Market: This market saw its struggle to launch in 2024 but we are back and better than ever. We learned through our misses and our highs of the Winter Market. This is going to be an exciting new look market that will make local small business more accessible and easy to find. There is nothing like this in the Chantilly area, it will be worth the drive to come and see.”

Thanks to Daniel and the nZone team for their time!
