Whether you’re looking for a morning boost or perhaps that dry red to ease into your evening, a new European-inspired coffee shop and wine bar coming to Fairfax County may be the spot for you.
The first Trummer’s Coffee & Wine Bar in Fairfax County is expected to open this fall in Fairfax’s Twinbrooke Shopping Center, according to co-owner Victoria Trummer.
Trummer’s currently operates their flagship coffee and wine bar in Gainesville.
“We plan to replicate much of the menu from our Gainesville location while also introducing some new additions for Fairfax,” said Trummer. “It’s designed to be an all-day destination — a place for breakfast, coffee meetings, happy hour, dinner, late-night pastries, or creative cocktails. We also serve breakfast all day and create seasonal coffee drinks using our house-made syrups.”
The menu is inspired by Victoria’s husband, Stefan, who is from Austria. She said Stefan is the inspiration behind some of the coffee and wine bar’s menu, including dishes such as Wiener Schnitzel, house-made pastas, fried artichokes, paninis, flatbreads, and cheese boards — along with Austrian pastries derived from Stefan’s mother Maria’s recipes. For the drinks, guests can expect a wide selection of coffee, signature cocktails, European wines, and more.
“This concept was born out of our desire to bring the feeling of a European coffee house to Northern Virginia,” Victoria said.
If the name “Trummer” sounds familiar, the family also owns and operates Trummer’s Restaurant in Clifton. The chef-driven restaurant is known for its quality American fare. But the coffee and wine bar concept has “a different feel,” Victoria tells us. Among the popular items: the Tomato, Mozzarella, and Basil Quiche and fried-to-order beignets. Seasonal items are also a feature at the Gainesville location.
“It focuses more on classic European café dishes and lighter fare designed for enjoying throughout the day,” she said.
The family is continuing the expansion process at the new Fairfax shop, which is located in the Twinbrooke Shopping Center on Braddock Rd. The new coffee and wine bar is expected to open this fall.
“We’re excited to expand the Coffee & Wine Bar concept and bring it to more families, college students, and food lovers across Fairfax County and beyond,” said Trummer.
